Oh, traveler through the sands of time
Take heed and pray, stop a while
Yonder do the Church bells chime
To welcome forth the new born child
The silence of the golden morn
Is broken by his tender cries
The promise of a glorious dawn
Is writ large in his gentle eyes
The mother to her holds him close
To bind him in a love supreme
A love that through life’s highs and lows
Will build in him his self esteem
Oh, seeker of the worldly treasure
Seek ye first the truth divine
The gift of life is but a simple measure
Of God’s love for all mankind
Take heed and pray, stop a while
Yonder do the Church bells chime
To welcome forth the new born child
The silence of the golden morn
Is broken by his tender cries
The promise of a glorious dawn
Is writ large in his gentle eyes
The mother to her holds him close
To bind him in a love supreme
A love that through life’s highs and lows
Will build in him his self esteem
Oh, seeker of the worldly treasure
Seek ye first the truth divine
The gift of life is but a simple measure
Of God’s love for all mankind
