Success eludes the scholar twice
But she does not sit and mope
Burning the midnight oil she tries
Clinging onto a glimmer of hope
The competition is tough and fierce
The artist seems to have no scope
He stares silently at his empty canvas
Clinging onto a glimmer of hope
The battle has raged long and hard
The warrior finds it hard to cope
But he urges his troops to move onward
Clinging onto a glimmer of hope
The stock market crashes yet again
The broker studies the downward slope
She risks buying more when others refrain
Clinging onto a glimmer of hope
Perseverance pays off in the long run
The scholar succeeds in her third endeavour
The artist paints the streaming sun
And wins accolades, laurels and honour
The enemy finally gives up the cause
Seeing the warrior's unwavering stolidity
The market goes bullish and recovers the loss
The broker benefits because of her solidity
Clinging onto hope works wonders for sure
If you dare to persevere
Believe in yourself as you endure
And you will overcome your fear
Faith and hope are a potent mix
As time and tide will proclaim
It will pull you out of any fix
And will bring you success, glory and fame
There once was a bard with a carefree soul
In the beautiful land of the golden bird
He thought his songs were destined for a goal
Some day they would reach out to the whole wide world

True Love
Hark, I hear a robin sing
Is it the onset of spring
Or is the melody indeed a quest
Beckoning his beloved to his nest
Ah, I see the red rose blushing
As the bee to her comes rushing
Is he enticed by her fragrance or her nectar
Or the dew drops that have decked her
As darkness falls, the placid lake shimmers
When the silvery moonlight on her glimmers
Is her sparkle just a measure
Of her joy, her longing, her pleasure
In the stillness of the night
Two swans rendezvous in white
Proclaim the glory of the Almighty
Avowing true love for all eternity
Is it the onset of spring
Or is the melody indeed a quest
Beckoning his beloved to his nest
Ah, I see the red rose blushing
As the bee to her comes rushing
Is he enticed by her fragrance or her nectar
Or the dew drops that have decked her
As darkness falls, the placid lake shimmers
When the silvery moonlight on her glimmers
Is her sparkle just a measure
Of her joy, her longing, her pleasure
In the stillness of the night
Two swans rendezvous in white
Proclaim the glory of the Almighty
Avowing true love for all eternity
